THANSUR PHNOM LA ANG is a resort Located in Boseth, Kompong Speu. It is designed for wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists. 




The resort consists and cottages and focuses on responsible tourism. The developers aimed to transform the previously cultivated land into a deciduous forest and enhance biodiversity through landscape interventions and a biodiversity survery.




The architectural interventions in the area have incorporation of local sandstone and stabilized adobes made from local soil. Phnom la ang resort is centered around the mountain. Travelers can enjoy views of the rising sun as they prepare for a forest tour. Provide views of the mountain, forest, and evening skies.




This design allows for a view of the buffer areas, creating a forest-like living experience. The buildings utulize passive stategies to reduce cooling loads during the summer season.




As locals move away and agricultural activity decreases, lakes are no longer de-silted, leading to a decrease in aquifer recharge. In order to promote ecological architecture, we consciously chose to use terracotta in our facility.

Brick Row Houses

  Wrapped in a white skin of perforated blocks, the Brick row House is the result of a renovation of one of the previous generic row houses within a once expensive urban area that was hit by an economic crisis in Cambodia . The architects make use of passive solar design principles as well as expert space planning to create a bright and spacious 50 bedroom townhouse that is superbly ventilated, offers privacy, security and a fair amount of garden space, a far cry from its former self. The previous block was clustered and somewhat complicated, so the designers basically cleared out the ground floor (labeled as first floor on the drawings), situating utilities and vertical circulation along the west wall, to create and fairly large open plan living area with lots of daylight and great cross ventilation, while the spaces at the front and the rear of the home were preserved as parking garage and garden respectively.
